Jason Butterfield

I’m a data integration and system automation specialist, currently working at the crossroads of AI and finance. Based in Ontario, I live with my wife, our three sons—each off on their own exciting journeys—and our two dogs, who join me on my regular hiking trips.

A lifelong lover of science and technology, I’m fascinated by space exploration, physics, and the future of AI. This curiosity often finds its way into my creative projects. I’ve recently completed Echos of Redemption, a novella made up of four short stories that explore themes of sacrifice and redemption, with each story offering something different—ranging from sci-fi landscapes filled with futuristic technology to tense spy thrillers that dive into the human psyche. These stories reflect my interest in how we interact with technology, morality, and each other in times of crisis.

Outside of work and writing, I’m passionate about promoting scientific literacy, especially in the fight against pseudoscience and misinformation. As a secular humanist and science enthusiast, I believe in the importance of evidence-based thinking and love engaging in discussions that bridge the gap between technology, ethics, and society.

Whether it’s exploring new hiking trails in Ontario, working on a new sci-fi concept, or tinkering with the latest AI models, I’m always looking for ways to merge my love for creativity with the logical world of data and science. My ultimate goal is to contribute to meaningful stories and technologies that inspire others to think critically and dream boldly.
